If ever the kitchen was the heart of the home, it’s at Christmas! Baking up yummy treats, candies and cookies makes the house smell so inviting, so why not make it look inviting, too?
I like to add just a few touches that make everything Christmas-y, and also help keep things easy to use. Making my cookie cutters a part of the centerpiece of my counter just helps them to be handy, and puts their pretty shapes and shiny surfaces at center stage.
Here are some other little touches I added to my kitchen:
Do you decorate your kitchen? I’d love to hear how you bring the season into the gathering place of your house!
With love from my country (Christmas-y) kitchen,
I love your use of candy canes…and the jar of cookie cutters. I need to get mine out of their dark hole, haha. I haven’t added much yet to my kitchen but I did put up little swags over the two windows with poinsettia flowers from the dollar store and some tulle and tied back the curtains on the kitchen door with ornaments. Just a little splash of Christmas. Thanks for your ideas. =)

Thanks, Amanda. Sometimes it’s just the little touches that add the most effective sparkle to a room. I love your idea of ornaments for tie backs! Good idea!

I have a small tabletop tree in the corner of my kitchen. It is decorated with snowmen of various kinds, but I have also used cookie cutters and cinnamon sticks with red bows before. I also have a Christmas glass cutting board that I received as a gift that I display on my counter all of December. With my Christmas towels and tins, It is fun to make my kitchen festive!
