Wherever God guides, He provides.
We often read that statement and think immediately of the material provisions God gives, and praise God for those gifts! But God’s provisions for us as we follow Him are multiplied and varied to meet every need – physical, spiritual, and emotional. Let me tell you how I saw Him provide all that for us in Week Two at The Wilds.
God has given physical strength, health and endurance. We walk a LOT of steps every day at camp and the schedule is packed every day! Last week we took the hike with the sponsors to the first falls and the third fall overlook. Though I was worn out afterwards, I did it, by the grace of God! It was well worth the effort, too, by the way!
He’s given opportunities to chat, pray and encourage so many individuals, as well as couples. The Lord directs our steps each day, opens doors and hearts, and we follow His leading. Only He can change and help; we are simply His instruments.
He has provided encouragement through dear friends, near and far. Last week two dear friends from church surprised us on Wednesday and showed up bearing precious gifts. There were beautiful flowers, donuts, fruits and also a basket of goodies to share with the folks we encounter each week (stop by our room for a sampling!). How thoughtful they are and how blessed we felt! Serving God is a blessing, but it’s not always easy. Encouragement is a necessary ingredient in each servant’s life. How grateful we are that the Lord used our dear friends to provide encouragement in the middle of the week!
God has also given mega amounts of joy. If you know me, you know I’m very much a homebody, but it has been amazing to me that God has given me peace and joy while I’m away from home each week. The days fly by, and before I know it, we’re on our way back home again. Once there, He gives me rest in the quiet place of our home to prepare me to serve Him again. What a good, good Father!
I deserve nothing. He gives everything. What a God we serve! Trust Him to provide exactly what you need when you need it. He is rarely early, but never late! Wait and trust.
