The kitchen, the heart of the home is such a special place, and especially so at Christmastime. As we enter the last full week before Christmas, I thought I’d share a few snapshots from my kitchen and dining room. It’s not heavily decorated, but enough to make it festive!
We will be hosting on Christmas Eve, so I’m also getting my menu plans in motion. I have to abide by the family traditions, of course, so figuring out what to serve is not hard!

I tried to use what I had. We had been given a big bunch of oranges, so I dried a couple of them and tucked them into my greenery. I put them on baking sheets after slicing them thinly. I baked them at 200 degrees and turned them over every thirty minutes. It took several hours, but they turned out so nice! I’ve heard they will keep, so I’ll try to preserve them for next year.

My pantry chalkboard gives me opportunity to make a seasonal design.

My coffee bar is “new to me“ piece of furniture that I found on Facebook marketplace last week! It holds my seasonal dishes/platters so much better than the piece I had been using for the last 12 years.

This little Christmas tree is my tiny tree my grandson‘s decorate every year. It’s full of fun little ornaments and some sweet memories. Our big Christmas tree is upstairs in our family room.
Not pictured are several candles I burn that give the house a warm glow and lovely scent. Tea towels of green and white are hung on the stove handle. My Alexa has been playing Bing Crosby or old classics. I need soft, quiet music while I work. 😊
Is your kitchen busy with preparations? Mine is quiet right now after my fun Cake and Coffee party Friday night. We are headed out for a few days of Christmas vacation, then I will be home to finish all the prep for Christmas Eve.
What kind of decor do you add to your kitchen? How do you make it festive and warm?
Happy baking, cooking and decorating!❄️🎄
