Spend a Little Time With Friends

Even if you consider yourself a recluse, I think it’s true that God created us to need one another. We need to be with people. God’s demonstration of that was creating Eve for Adam. He needed a companion. A spouse is a wonderful answer to the need for companionship, but there are also so many other relationships that we should foster and for many reasons and benefits. Consider

  • Sharing their burdens
  • Laughing together
  • Learning to listen
  • Demonstrating compassion
  • Sharing the Truth of God’s Word, either with an unbeliever or a follower of Christ
  • Learning from them
  • Getting creative ideas
  • Giving help
My sisters and I were blessed to spend three days together this week. What a grace gift from the Lord!

It’s easy to think we can do life alone, but Ecclesiastes 4:9,10 says,
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.

Maybe you could get together with your sisters, a friend or two from church, the new lady you’ve recently met, or an old friend you haven’t connected with in a while. Why not pray about who the Lord would have you reach out to, then do it? Just an hour or two will likely refresh you and your friend.

How often do you spend time with others? How has it been a blessing to you?

Happy Daylight Savings weekend! ☀️
