“As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness — just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.” ~Laura Ingalls Wilder

All of these “common blessings” come from the hands a loving God, Who in His kindness and mercy, bestows good gifts on His children. I’m thankful for a day dedicated to recognizing and praising Him for His gifts, His love and mostly, His Son!
I’m writing this post from a hospital room. My sweet dad broke s hip. At this time we are waiting for him to go to surgery. It’s not the Thanksgiving we imagined, but God is good, even when hard things happen.
“The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”
Nahum 1:7
Happy Thanksgiving dear ones.

And you, indeed, fill my life with comfort and my heart with gladness . . . from our very first Thanksgiving in that trailer that was a castle to us!
