
Happy Memorial Day! I am so grateful for the men and women who gave their lives defending our nation. Today I celebrate my freedom and salute these brave soldiers.

and baked beans, and that will be good, but we’ll hurry through so we can enjoy Fresh Strawberry Pie!
This is an old tried and true recipe that bursts with fresh strawberries and a sweetened strawberry glaze poured over a baked pie crust. Topped with a little whipped cream, this is summer on a plate!
You can find my pie crust recipe here, or you could use a store-bought crust.
Strawberry Pie
1 Cup sugar
3 1/2 Tbl. Cornstarch
2 Tbl White Karo Syrup
1 cup water
Bring to a boil and cook until thickened (Stir constantly). Remove from heat.
Add 2 heaping Tbl. Strawberry Jello. Stir. Add 1 quart fresh diced strawberries. Pour into a baked pie shell. Chill until set.
