Remember This On a Hard Day

You can listen to this post here on the Refresh Her podcast.

On a recent early spring day, my husband and I were strolling on one of the beautiful walking paths near us. There is a little river that runs alongside the path. There are a couple of small waterfalls. There are green pastures and mountains. I was reveling in the beauty of it all when I looked at a woman walking towards me. She was not looking at the scenery. She wasn’t looking at the path or those that were walking towards her. She had her phone lifted up and she was texting and scrolling, totally oblivious to the beauty. Psalm 50:12 is truth that God is in control of everything – including the interruptions in life. But what are we to do when life gets turned upside down by events that shock us?

Prices Go Up…Blessings Come Down

Food prices continue to escalate, don’t they? It’s easy to get upset each week when when you walk the grocery store aisles. But if you know Christ as your Savior, you need to remember that there is no panic in heaven. Jesus said,

For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:31-33

God knows what we need, even better than we do. We can trust Him.

This was brought to my attention this weekend as I walked into Kroger, shopping list in hand. I knew there were items I was seeking that could be a bit pricey, but I prayed before I left home that the Lord would direct my steps.
