Dressing With Grace – Winter Outfit Inspiration

I think most of us can get into an outfit lull. We wear the same things over and over, even with the same accessories and then we wonder why we look in the mirror and dislike our outfits. We’re bored with it!

I find it so helpful to jump on Pinterest and get some inspiration. I did just that this week!

I came up with some fresh ways to wear what I have in my closet.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I have a dress form that I’ve named, Grace. I LOVE using her to model the outfits I’m going to wear. I can get a good idea of how it’s all going to look on me when I first put it on Grace. It makes it fun and helpful! I’m not sure how I got along all these years without her in my closet!

Here are a few casual outfits I put together, trying to overlap some of the garments a little. I haven’t added any jewelry to these outfits, but will certainly be doing that when I wear them.

When most of the outfit is solid and dark, it’s nice to add a pop of color with shoes! My blouse is from Ann Taylor, and it was purchased at Elizabeth Dean Boutique in Gray, TN with the tags still on it!
These are boot cut jeans from Loft that flare out just a little. They were also purchased at Elizabeth Dean Boutique!
Same jeans with a Lucky Brand shirt and Talbots vest – another consignment store find!
These stretchy black pants have been my favorite thing to wear this winter. They can be dressed down and made to look almost like a jogging pant. They are so comfortable AND warm. I purchased these at TJ Maxx.
Here are the same black pants, long sleeved black tee shirt and vest, but dressed up a bit with a necklace and pink shoes. A small change can make a huge difference!

In case you’re interested, I have seen my dress form at Hobby Lobby marked down at some stores. Keep your eye open when you’re near the fabric department!

I hope these photos inspired you to dig into your closet and drawers and put together a few outfits that make you feel fresh and ready for another winter day! You know, when you put effort into what you wear each day, even if you are home all day long, you will probably find that you are more productive. It’s certainly true for me. Resist the urge to throw on leggings and a sweatshirt or the “Mommy outfit,” and dress with Grace instead!

Did you find any inspiration?
Here’s another post about outfits that you might find helpful.

As I shared in my podcast this week, don’t forget to strap on the belt of love each day. It’s the most important accessory you and I can wear. “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.”
