Keeping with the Summertime Theme I started on the previous post, today I’m sharing five recent summertime outfits. I only share these because I like getting ideas from others, and I hope this will give you a little inspiration! Continue reading “What the Preacher’s Wife Wore – Summer Outfits”
Got a minute – literally? Here’s a very short video showing how easy it is to be casual but still look like you’ve put some thought into what you’re wearing. It’s a point I’ve brought up before – it’s all about adding accessories. It doesn’t even have to be much. If you’re wearing a plain tee shirt, adding a necklace that has a bright pop of color can bump up that outfit from just
“That looks nice!!”
Here are a few more examples with the name of the game being…ACCESSORIZE.
I’d encourage you to find a few necklaces you love with pops of color. Just walk into a store with a good variety and whatever you find that you love, buy it!! You will have lots to wear with it!
Refresh your casual outfits with some fun pieces!
It’s always kind of hard to know what to wear as the seasons are transitioning, isn’t it? We had snow yesterday, but we have had some very warm temperatures in recent weeks, too. You can go from needing a heavy coat in the morning to not needing one at all by supper! So like last fall, the answer for me is layering.
Time for a little outfit review! Here’s a week’s worth of outfits that I’ve enjoyed this winter, along with some of my favorite accessory pieces. Come get a little inspiration and some sage advice my mom gave me years ago regarding how to know what to purchase when it comes to necklaces and scarves!
What’s your favorite accessory?
It can be hard to know how to dress when the seasons are in transition. Has anyone else struggled with these fluctuating temps? I’ve had to learn to layer pieces together so I don’t have to completely change outfits in the middle of the day.
I’ve found it helpful to keep some of the lighter pieces I’d wear in the summertime out to wear with warmer sweaters or jackets. Short sleeves or sleeveless tops/dresses under a heavier layer is perfect when it’s not freezing cold yet!
Today I’m sharing a video few of the outfits that I’ve worn recently to keep cool/warm as the temperature changes hour by hour.
I love wearing these light layers right now! What do you enjoy wearing while the season is changing from summer to fall?
I always cringe when I hit “publish” on these outfit posts. I’d rather hide behind my computer and write something, but I know that I like to see pictures with ideas for outfits, so today’s posts is a simple idea for an OOTD.
This outfit is an example of two things:
- Pattern mixing
Pattern Mixing – This is a gentle mix with plaid pants and a blouse with a little polka dot. It’s not too wild or “out there.” It’s very doable, even if you’re not used to mixing patterns.
Layering – For cold mornings and warmer days, layering can really help you decide what to wear! If you can remove a layer for the warmer temps later on, you won’t find yourself having to change your whole outfit during the day!
Tell me, do you feel comfortable mixing patterns?
Have fun and mix it up a little!
Happy Friday, friends! This has been a packed week, but filled with lots of fun blessings! Let me share some of them with you:
I held my first Apples of Gold Workshop last night. It was a class to teach how to make Pumpkin Rolls and Pies! We had eight ladies attend and we had SOOOO much fun!
The pictures below show
- The calm after the (flour) storm! Every lady rolled out pie dough and we covered every inch of my island with our flour, dough and fillings. It was so great!
- Cutie Pies as I call them, because aren’t they cute?! Each lady made a pie in a Mason Jar lid and everyone was so creative and did a fantastic job. They got to eat the fruit of their labors, of course!
- I demonstrated the technique of making a sponge cake and rolling it up and filling it. Pumpkin Roll is loved by many and can be made ahead and frozen, making it a great dessert for Thanksgiving dinner!
I bought some little plastic silver coffee spoons at the Dollar Tree and turned them into Chocolate Spoons for coffee or hot chocolate for when you want to turn your beverage into a bit of a dessert. They would make great gifts, attached to hot chocolate packets and slid into seasonal bags!
I encouraged the ladies last night to use this holiday season to share the Gospel. Bake up something or fix these spoons up and give them to a neighbor or co-worker and tell them you trust this will be good, but one thing we can always count on is that God is good (Psalm 34:8) and share the Gospel with them!
Then lastly, I did a quick video of my OOTD (Outfit of the day) . You can check out my You tube channel under Denise Cunningham and subscribe so you’ll be notified each time I upload a video. You can just click on the You Tube Icon on the video below and it will take you to my channel. I’m thinking of adding some Christmas prep videos in the next few weeks, that you won’t want to miss!
I have a little video of the Chocolate Spoon tutorial that will be posted later today! I hope you’ll come check it out on my channel.
What have you been up to, what are you wearing and how are you experiencing the blessings of the Lord this week?
