A Fun Girl’s Trip

Last weekend my girls and I had the blessing of spending two nights together celebrating mine and Whitney’s birthdays. It had been planned for the actual day of my 65th, but I was recovering from the flu. But the sweet blessing of the Lord was that our rescheduled trip turned out even better than we had originally planned!

To simplify things, the girls planned for us to stay at Whitney’s and go into Greenville and the surrounding area to take me to all their favorite places for meals and shopping. We were able to get it ALL in and we had so much fun together! Here’s are a few highlights of our time together…

Downtown Greenville is beautiful!

We walked down by the Reedy Creek on a gorgeous (not even hot!) day! Then we went to The Lazy Goat where we sat out on their beautiful patio and enjoyed the most delicious lunch! I highly recommend their Prime Rib Sandwich and Truffle Fries!

We got plenty of shopping in that included The Oops Store, Marshall’s/Home Goods (this is one huge store and full of lots of fun things!), thrift stores, downtown Greer antique stores and of course, Dollar Tree! I love to follow on Whitney’s heels and see what she finds!

Downtown Greer is a great place for shopping, coffee and eating!

Whitney has her house perfectly styled for fall and everything was so pretty – even her kitty, Thelma Lou, who posed for me!

We ended the weekend by going to see the live production of The Sound of Music at the Spartanburg Little Theatre. They did an amazing job and we all enjoyed it so much. It was so lovely to sit there for three hours and just be entertained with a story I love so much!

One surprise about the play was the Reverend Mother’s part. I usually skip past her solo of Climb Every Mountain when I’m watching a DVD of this musical, but the actress did a great job acting and singing with passion and also true talent. I loved her character and I think the rest of the auditorium felt the same. She got quite the applause at the end!

I came home from our girl’s trip even more thankful for my two daughters and the joy of getting to spend time with them. How blessed that they would plan a whole weekend to celebrate their mom. I am unworthy, but so thankful.

If you’ve never visited Greenville, SC, you should put it on your bucket list. There is so much to do and see!

Who or what could you celebrate? Find an excuse and refresh yourself with a girl’s weekend with your daughters or a couple of friends!
