Springtime is the time for sprucing things up! It doesn’t always have to be a huge project – sometimes just a deep spring cleaning will do it. Other times a greater change is needed.
For us, this spring meant it was time to paint. Isn’t it amazing what a can of paint will do to a room?! We’ve lived in our house twelve years, and the color of the walls and the paint itself were showing their age. We painted downstairs two years ago and it made such a difference! I knew it was time for that kind of refresh upstairs.
Thank the Lord, we have a painter who does a great job and is trustworthy. We used to do the painting ourselves, but have decided it’s time to hire someone else for these big jobs.
I used Blue Ice from Valspar downstairs. As the name suggests, it’s a bright white with a blue undertone. For upstairs I chose the shade below that on the color swatch – Tell Me a Secret.
The white did just what was needed in terms of brightening the spaces, and I love it. I did add an accent wall in our guest room of the blue (Cool Elegance) I used in the other bedrooms.
Here are some pics of the before and after shots.

The laundry room also got a face lift and I can’t believe how much more inviting this little space is!
All it takes is a little time looking around your home so you can notice what needs attention. It’s easy to live so hard in your house that you don’t stop to really notice.
That also reminds me of our need to give attention to our marriage. It’s typical to be “doing life” individually and not stopping to see if the relationship could use some “touching up.” Here’s a little nudge to pray and ask the Lord what you could do for your husband. How could you be that “splash of paint” that would refresh him? God will show you when you ask.
Refresh your spaces,

I love a fresh coat of paint! Yours rooms turned out so lovely, Denise. 🤍
