Embracing a Staycation for Spiritual Renewal and Physical Rest

What a lovely season of ministering this has been. In the last ten weeks we have been to I believe seven different churches/camps/events. We’ve pretty much been home at the front end of each week, and then gone for a long weekend.

How kind the Lord is to grant these opportunities to serve Him, to allow for safe travels, to have the blessing of meeting so many precious people who have become sweet friends and have so much fun while serving! On top of all that, Dale and I get to do it together!

I will admit, however, that it feels nice to know that our spring ministry trips are completed and we have a time of refreshment before summer. Time for a little REST.

We have to put into practice what we teach others about prioritizing our marriage and carving out time to be alone with the Lord to hear from Him. So, this next week is going to be a “Staycation” for us.

• Alarms will be off.
• Phones will be pushed away and put on Personal Focus mode.
• There will be no agenda to tend to.
• We’re going to be close to home for the most part, with one outing not too far away.
• We’re going to be talking, planning, praying about future events.
• We will dig into God’s Word.
• We’re going to hang out together.
• We’re going to REST!

My blog is also going on silent mode for the week while we pull away. I’ll be back, hopefully refreshed and ready to press forward!
