Five Blessings During the Coronavirus

I want to show you some of the blessings of this very different week.  We quote Romans 8:28 often to others who are going through hard times, because we want them to remember that God is doing good things even in their hard situation.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose

What about you right now?  Are you seeing some good things that God is doing during these weeks of the worldwide crisis? Time will continue to show us more good things that God is doing, but in my little world, I can see with my little eyes some good things around me and I can’t wait to show you some pictures to illustrate them!

What Do I Do Now? Everything’s Been Cancelled.

fog

Would you just stop and think for a minute…

How many times in the recent months have you sighed (and maybe even complained) about how busy you were?

My hand is up.  I am guilty.

I said there was no time for (xyz).  I thought to myself how I wish I could just stay home and get some things done.

None of us could ever have imagined the state in which we find ourselves.  Like every other “event” on my calendar, the ladies’ events I was planning on attending this spring have both been cancelled.  Continue reading “What Do I Do Now? Everything’s Been Cancelled.”

Are you aware that most pastors and their wives experience loneliness, isolation and discouragement during their ministry lives? The role that members play can be a huge encouragement.

I shared with you on Wednesday that a dear friend and sister in Christ, Hope Carter, passed away this week.  I’ve had many people who have encouraged me over the years, and Hope would definitely be one of them!  If she could speak, she could give some great lessons on how to encourage your pastor’s wife, but since she’s gone to heaven, let me share what she did for me that meant so much and impacted my life and ministry.

  1. Care – While we came nearly twenty years ago to our church to shepherd her, she cared for me when I was hurting,

We All Need It; We Should All Give It

encouragement

Every person on the planet has a need to be encouraged. We all struggle with something – maybe it’s wondering if you’re able to do a task, if you’re making a difference for Christ, if you’re progressing in your spiritual life, or if you’re smart enough to go to college.

I have parents that have always given the gift of encouragement. I was the recipient of it again just this summer. Continue reading “We All Need It; We Should All Give It”
