February Home Decor

Valentines 2a.jpg

If you have followed me for any time at all, you know that I LOVE to decorate my home for the seasonal holidays.  Now that the holidays are past and we are in the love month of February, I pulled out my red, pink and white decor that I use for Valentines Day.  It’s just fun to keep things fresh instead of the “same ol’, same ol’!”  Don’t you think?

Here are my “love” touches around my living spaces downstairs.

My entryway…

My dining room – my favorite spot when the afternoon sun is shining in!! The X and O were random wooden letters left at the 90% off section of Hobby Lobby.  I knew they’d be a perfect message for my Valentine decor! The heart banner came from the Dollar Spot at Target several years ago.

Cookie Cutters are great little ways to add hearts here and there.  Here’s a pink one. On the other side of this vase is a red one, same size.

Valentines 3

My mantle and coffee table are obvious places to add a little Valentine decor.  These Scrabble tile pictures were purchased at a clearance sale, but they would be easy to DIY!

I also added some little twinkling lights.

Valentines 7

A pewter heart-shaped dish and some Scrabble coasters with special words give the coffee table a little love!

Valentines 5

I couldn’t leave my chalkboard out of the design, so I added a truth about God’s love for us ~

Do you decorate for Valentines Day?  Maybe those in your house would enjoy a little love thrown here and there in your house.

Refresh your season with a little love decor!

  1. So welcoming! I love your scrabble coasters. Did you make them? If so, is there a how-to post on how you did it? It’s such a cute idea. Thank you for sharing.

    1. I’m glad “welcome” is felt, because that is definitely my goal! A dear friend made those coasters for me. I think I’m going to have to make some and do a tutorial! I love them and always get compliments on them!

      1. I was going to ask the same question about the Scrabble coasters. I would love to see a tutorial, so I hope you do one!

  2. Your home looks warm and welcoming. I’ve never considered decorating for each season/holiday. I just decorate for Christmas but this is a great way to refresh the home throughout the year 🙂

    1. Thank you! I do indeed want people to feel drawn into my home, so I’m glad that comes across through the photos! Seasonal decor helps me from getting tired of having things the same way. The holidays are my guide. Next will be Easter/spring, then July 4th/summer, etc.

      1. To me, decorating seasonally is also a great reminder of the continuity of the seasons and God’s promise of seasons while the earth remains (in Genesis 8:22). Another season that I decorate for, here in New England, is maple sugaring season. It has special memories for me so I have collected a number of items and vintage photos having to do with maple syrup and maple sugaring.

      2. What a great truth that is! Showing our Creator’s promise for the seasons continuation is a great motivation for decorating throughout the year! The Maple sugaring items are beautiful, I’m sure! That’s so special!
