I love my front porch and keeping it inviting is important to me. I want to feel that it’s always opening its arms and welcoming all who pass to sit down, enjoy the shade and have time to rest. That takes careful attention to the chairs, rugs and flowers out there. The pillows on the chairs also need to be refreshed, especially after a summer of sunshine beating down, fading their colors. I don’t want to buy a new pillow for each season, but I do want the pillows to coordinate with the time of year. Here’s how I accomplish that without spending a fortune ~
I buy pillow covers from Hobby Lobby and simply slip them over my pillow forms. The regular price for the ones I found was only $3.99! When you consider that seasonal pillows are over $25, that’s a HUGE savings! I’m not sure I could have even made slipcovers cheaper than that! I have also found the more expensive slipcovers marked down in the clearance section of Hobby Lobby in times past.
Here’s the difference that little change made last weekend.
My summer orange pillows were more faded than I’d realized! What a difference a little change can make!

I’ve thought that at Christmas time I might wrap a red ribbon around these covers and bring them into the holiday season. We shall see!
Do you need to refresh your porch? You don’t hae to spend a fortune to do it!

It looks lovely, Denise.
