Triple Chocolate Cake For a Celebration Day

Today marks my 65th birthday…yikes. I won’t say all the things you say when you hit a milestone like this. I will say that I thank the Lord for every day He has given me. The Psalmist said in chapter 90 – So teach us to number our DAYS that we may apply our hearts to wisdom. We’re not told to number our years because years are made up of individual days. It’s up to us how we use them or waste them, enjoy them or curse them.

This day is two birthdays in one. I trusted Christ as my Savior on my 8th birthday, making this day so full of blessings! I’ve been His child, safe and secure for 57 years. God has been so gracious to give me so many blessings, including overall good health, although the day that I’m writing

Celebrating RefreshHer’s 15th Anniversary!

In 2008, my sister told me she was considering writing a blog. “What is a blog?,” I asked. The formal definition is:

Blog – regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.

That whole idea intrigued and inspired me because I desired to stay connected with the ladies from my church during the week, and a blog seemed like the perfect platform for that. Plans Change, Love Remains

When special occasions roll around, it’s so much fun to make plans and then have the joy of anticipating that event! But what do we do when/if those carefully laid plans have to be changed or even cancelled? When our daughter Whitney and her husband, Paul knew the Lord was leading them to adopt, I wondered about how myself and others could help provide for their needs. We all know what happens at a birth – a shower is given where the parents are, well, showered with all the necessities.
