Viruses, pandemics, financial stress, job loss, tornadoes, floods…all cause a feeling of loss, anxiety and stress. These are troubling times, but in the midst of them, we don’t have to BE troubled! Jesus said,
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Anyone who doesn’t know Jesus personally, has nowhere but within to find peace, and they will come up empty because later in this same chapter, Jesus said,
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus has gone to heaven to prepare a place for us and He has promised to come back for those that have received Him Who is the only Way, Truth and Life! If this virus does nothing else, I pray that it’s making people so aware of how empty they are in and of themselves, and aware of their need for Jesus. If anyone will call to Him, He promises to hear them and save them. If you have any questions about this or about how you can have a personal relationship with Christ, I welcome you to contact me through my contact email at the top of the page.
Nothing catches our God by surprise. He is not shaken by any current circumstance, no matter how devastating it may seem. Psalm 103:19 We can rest in His sovereign care over us every moment of the day and night!
