A Paul, a Pal, and a Project

I just finished listening to a podcast regarding women having a friend with whom they can share their life, their burdens and their joys. As I sit here and ponder those truths, I think of the admonition I once heard…

Always have a Paul, a Barnabas and a Timothy.

What does that mean? We could put it this way – A Paul, a Pal and a Project. Let me explain…

The year was 1978, and all in one weekend, my twin sister got married, and I moved out of my home to go teach school in a state about 7.5 hours away.  Our other sister was already married, so this left my parents with a double empty nest all in one swift swoop!  My mom told me later that for a day or two she was sad, but then she said,

Easter Dinner Recap

What a wonderful Easter weekend we had! The services at church were so special. As we sang some favorite songs, my heart swelled with thankfulness as we worshiped the Lord. We do serve a risen Savior, and because He lives, we can face tomorrow! We saw the Lord in His Word, as we read in Luke that He cares enough to clothe the lilies of the field and He cares even more for the needs of His children. After church I hosted just my family for dinner. It seems that our travels keep us so busy that we don’t get together nearly as often as we’d like. So it was special for it to be just us so we could chat and get caught up.

But now of course, we must talk about the food…Oh yes!

Safe Am I

You can listen to this post here on Refresh Her Podcast.

When our daughter and son-in-law brought their precious twin boys home from the hospital, I watched with intensity as they got the babies ready to go to sleep in their bassinets. They would lay down a blanket on the changing table, set the baby at an angle in the middle, and then bring each side in very tightly. Finally the bottom part of the blanket came up and was tucked in securely. it was like they were ready for shipping by UPS! There was not chance for flailing arms or legs – every part of the boys was tucked safely and securely inside.

This was a whole new approach to me, since my last baby came more than 25 years before. I felt concerned.
