Take time to enjoy the season!

Living here in the mountains of east Tennessee is pretty any time of year, but it’s spectacular in the fall, isn’t it? The trees are really just beginning to turn and will probably peak in a couple weeks. Take time to slow down this weekend and enjoy the beauty and this season. Why not…

  • Take a drive on a country road
  • Have some friends over and serve apple cider and fried donuts (canned biscuits work great)
  • Ride a bike on a trail
  • Iron leaves with waxed paper with your children or grandchildren
  • Carve a pumpkin – Try something unique like you’ll see at this web site –http://southernliving.com/southern/gardens
  • Go apple picking
  • Make caramel apples
  • Create a fall decoration at your front door . See http://cottageliving.com/cottage
  • Create an autumn shelf or mantle in your home. Gather any dishes, candlesticks, and books that are the colors of autumn. Add baskets, silk branches of fall leaves, mums, and small pumpkins and arrange in a variety of heights.
  • Have a bonfire in the backyard if you’re able, or light a fire in the charcoal grill – then roast marshmallows

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. Psalm 24:1
