How To Have a Strong Prayer Life When It Seems So Hard

I won’t lie – pastors get down – really down when the attendance falls off on the night a Prayer Meeting is scheduled.  It happens often.  You announce you’re going to gather just to pray, and the crowd thins as though the fire alarm had just gone off.  My husband will get in the car and I know what question is coming my way…

Why won’t people gather to pray?”

I’ve been thinking about that and I’d like to address that question with three answers.  How about watching this video and tell me if you agree?

What keeps you from praying?  What makes it difficult to be consistent and fervent? Do you agree with the reasons I stated in the video?  Is your prayer life all it could be, or do you need to make some changes?

The download of my prayer journal is still available to anyone who will contact me via the email on my contact page.

Let’s stay on our knees, friends.  God answers the prayer of the righteous! Proverbs 15:29

  1. I am getting started on my prayer journal I downloaded. Thank you so much. Also every year I write out a petition to the Lord of things I would love to see happen this year and I check them off as God answers them. I love to see how the Lord has heard my prayers and answered them at the end of each year. He is a faithful God and He will do according to what He said He would do. I am so thankful He brought you into my life. Thank you for your encouragement every day. God bless!

    1. Tammy, I’m so happy you’ve started on your prayer journal! God IS faithful and cannot go against His nature. He hears and answers in accordance to His nature and His perfect will for each of us. What a precious promise!
Thank you for reading and commenting. I prayed specifically for you this morning…you’re on my Tuesday list! =)

  2. Yes, I agree with all of the “reasons” we don’t pray. Two years ago on New Years’ Day, God really started working in my heart about this issue. This year when I made my goals for 2018, and having a prayer journal was one of them. What a blessing and answer to prayer it was when you shared this just a couple of days later! I have downloaded my copy, printed it, and put it in a binder. I started using it this past Sunday, and I’m looking forward to how God is going to use this. Thank you again for sharing!
