For many years I have been making Pecan Tarts at Christmas . This is a taste of Home recipe that deserves to be repeated as a family tradition because they are such a special treat! They taste exquisite, yet are very easy to make. The pastry only has four ingredients and is a simple as rolling a ball of play dough! The pecan filling is perfection. Just look…

I usually go ahead and double the DOUGH recipe because I always have filling left over. There is no way I could get rid of extra filling! Here’s the recipe from Taste if Home.
- 3 ounces Cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup Butter, softened
- 1 cup Flour
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Filling
- 1 Egg
- 3/4 cup Brown sugar
- 1 tbl melted butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2/3 cup Chopped Pecans
Beat cream cheese and butter. Blend in flour and salt. Chill one hour.
Shape into one-inch balls. Press into bottoms and sides of a greased mini muffin cups. For filling, beat the egg, brown sugar, butter and vanilla; stir in pecans. Spoon into shells. Bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool in pan on wire rack. I find it helpful to loosen the edges after they are slightly cool. Makes about 20

These are the perfect little treat for the holidays! What treat do you make every year at Christmas?
