Christmas Tree Tassel Craft

I don’t like making a craft and then trying to find a place to put it. Recently I found and made a cute Christmas craft that you can actually use. This is a Christmas Tree Tassel. It takes about 15 minutes to make. Look at this…

The tassel is a cute replacement for a bow on a package! You could also make 8-10 and it would make a darling garland. Here are my instructions:

Tassel Christmas Tree Craft

Cut an 8” piece of yarn for the top tassel. Set aside.

Wrap the yarn around your closed fingers about 15 times.

Slip the 8” piece of yarn through the loop and tie in a knot. Take the 8 piece and make a loop for hanging. Tie in a knot. About ½ “ down on the tassel itself, tie another piece of yarn ½” from the top to make the “head” of the tassel. Trim the tassel yarns to 2 ½”.

To make two more tassels, wrap the yarn around your fingers, then tie a length of yarn through the loop, but you don’t need a hanging loop, just let it hang down. Trim the yarns to at least 3”. You don’t need to make the neck on these next 2 tassels. You will make two tassels like this.

Once the three tassels are made:

Take the last tassel you just made and put a line of hot glue (or tacky glue) near the spot where you tied the knot. Place the tied “neck” of the second tassel on the glue.

Place a line of hot glue on the neck of the top (second) tassel. Place the first tassel you made on the glue.

Hot glue white balls on the tree. Add a topper, gluing it on the string of the “neck” of the first tassel.

Ta-Da! An adorable Christmas tree tassel to add a special touch to your gifts or your decor! Give it a try and let me know what you think!

      1. I plan to give it a try. I bookmarked it and am hoping to get to the craft store. I am not great with crafts, but I love this one because it seems like it will turn out well for me. Your instructions are so clear. I know those directions add a lot of effort and time when making a craft. Thank you!

      2. If you use tacky glue, use plenty and allow it to dry completely before lifting it up. I made this with a group of ladies, and a couple fell apart because of not being patient. 😉
