Virtual Adoption Shower

Family – what a special gift! No matter if the household is birthed, blended or adopted, it is always a story written by God, the Creator of the family.

Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. Psalm 107:41

I’m excited to tell you about a family who IS adopting! Many of you who follow my blog also follow my daughter, Whitney’s blog, Come Home for Comfort. She and her husband, Paul are getting ready to adopt a family. It’s been an incredible story to watch the Lord write! If you’re not aware, or haven’t seen the updates, you can go here to view Whitney’s Adoption page and read why they’re adopting and how it’s progressing. (Get a tissue ready!)

1. When you’ve gone to so much trouble to get everything sparkling and gleaming with decorations, you’ve already taken care of getting the house ready for guests!

2.  There are usually enough snacks and treats in our kitchens to fill the neighborhood – so go ahead – fill up the neighborhood!  Invite your neighbors over for a cup of coffee and treat! Invite them over for cheese and crackers and fresh fruit. Look what you have in abundance and share it! If you need a delicious and easy sweet popcorn, this Almond Toffee Popcorn is a favorite of mine.

Love Them With Written Words

Life is fragile, they say. Yes, it is fragile, like a Cone Flower. Once full of vigor and beauty, after a frost the ground is littered with the soft remains of petals. The tall stem bends and bows low. Life is the same. In Joshua 13:1 we read,

Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years

Joshua knew he was old, and then God reminded him of that truth! We all know that with age comes infirmities. Some are debilitating. Some rob people of the ability to move, while other illnesses rob people of the ability to think clearly or to speak. We don’t know how our lives will play out, and while none of us wish to be “Old and stricken,” we just don’t know what the Lord will allow in our lives, nor how our lives will end.
