Managing Your Laundry

I’m half way through the day and I have done two loads of laundry, ironed linens and put them away, and also pressed our clothes for the weekend. Then I got brave and peeked into the clothes hampers in our closets. I saw more dirty clothes wadded and waiting for the the Laundry Lady (that’s me!) to rescue them from the basket and repeat the process of my earlier hours.

Elevate Ordinary Days with Meaningful Connections

We’ve had a little time at home in between our meetings and we’ve stayed busy! But it wasn’t just busy for the sake of being busy. As I look back on the week, I see a definite theme.

I got to meet up and have lunch with my sweet friend. Days might be full, but we all need to make time for fellowship and friendship. I recently heard a message by Chuck Swindoll and he said,

“We come into church like marbles instead of grapes!”

In other words, we don’t let our lives mesh with others. I’m thankful for my grape friend who helps me not be a marble! Our time together enable us to connect far better than sending a text message! It was up close, personal and meaningful.

The Piece of Advice That Has Simplified My Life

Yesterday on my social media, I answered the question:

“What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?”

My answer was this simple statement:`

I added, “No matter if you’re in a time of sorrow, or it’s a time of busyness, or you’re feeling overwhelmed in parenting or marriage – what is the next thing? It’s that easy.”

How has that piece of advice helped me? I probably say it to myself at least once every single day. I often get “stuck” and don’t know what to think or say or do. But when I ask the Lord for the next right thing, He always leads me to my next step.

Just yesterday I was trying to make a decision. I felt flustered and anxious, but when I asked the Lord for the next right thing, He didn’t give me the answer for the decision, He said, “Go fold the laundry.” It had just finished drying, and was waiting for me
