Freshen Up Friday

A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
Proverbs 15:13
Sometimes at the end of a stressful day or week, a good, hearty laugh does indeed do wonders for your spirit.  I heard the cutest story last weekend and I just have to tell someone…that someone would be you!

It seems there was a man who grew up rather poor and had never been to a restaurant in his life.  He saved and scrimped so that he and his wife could go out for supper one night.  When he got inside the restaurant he was enamored by the salt and pepper shakers on each table, the menus he and his wife both received, and the waitresses bringing the food and beverages right to their table.  After he finished his delicious dinner he reached in and took a toothpick out of the glass jar in front of them.  He went to work cleaning his teeth and when he finished, he promptly put the toothpick back inside the glass jar.  “You know,” he said to his wife, “I bet a lot of people steal those things!”

Here’s a little tip that also might refresh your summer – Bath and Body Works is having their semi-annual sale beginning next week, June 13th.  There are always some really great prices on their products at these sales.  The card I received about it says that some items are 75% off.  I’d say it’s time to stock up for Christmas gifts!

By the way, what would you like to see in a video here on my blog?  I’d love your input and suggestions!

Be refreshed!

  1. Denise, have to share this with you. I made John a “homemade Choc. pie this week. I followed your video while I was making the crust. Had a little trouble rolling it out the first time, but redid it and it did fine. Think I baked the crust too long but it turned out okay. John and Joan loved it. Thank you so much for making that video; couldn't have done it without you. Could you do a video on making a cobbler or homemade chicken and dumplings. Always wanted to try my hand at these. Keep them videos coming girl. Thanks so much, love you.

  2. Oh yay! Glad you had good success with your pie! See? You can do it! Keep practicing! You'll get better and better at it.

Thanks for the suggestion about an upcoming video. I'll see what I can do.
