When I ask myself
Where in the world did April go?
All I have to do is look at my phone’s photos and see that it was packed very full! It wasn’t just busy, it was full of blessings! Here are some of them…
Family. Not only did I get to have my mom with us for Easter, I also got to spend a little time with my twin sister at the end of my mom’s visit. We shopped and had lunch together. It’s never enough time, but it did provide time to catch up a little!
Pampering. A sweet friend gifted me to salon time at a lovely spa in our area – Austin Springs Spa. The atmosphere is restful and relaxing. I had a pedicure and it felt so nice to get my feet ready for summertime!
Gardening. My sweet grandsons helped me get my lettuces in the raised beds. We’ve had to cover them up a few nights when frost threatened, but it’s worth it to have fresh lettuce in the late springtime! I planted two different kinds, one being Romaine and the other is a leafy variety.

Watercolor painting. It has been my goal to paint more this year, and while I haven’t done as many as I wish, I have done more than last year. This month I did these four above. I use tutorials on You Tube to guide me, as well as photos on Pinterest. If I could paint all day long, I would! It’s so much fun!
Retreating. A group of fourteen from our church went to The Wilds Christian camp to attend the ladies’ retreat. We were so blessed by our time together. We shopped and ate our way to camp all day Friday, then we were blessed with God’s Word, fellowship, Bible teaching, beautiful music and laughter. We came home encouraged and refreshed!
Dating. I never get tired of sharing my life, an evening or a meal with this guy. We have the best times together. Even when we are out doing ministry, we work hard at spending time together. I’m so grateful for a husband who prioritizes our marriage.
Every good gift is from the Lord, and all of these are such grace blessings. These are things I don’t deserve, need, or have to have, but the Lord in His kindness lavishes out good things. Psalm 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowns thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Speaking of marriage, I’m curious if you’ve listened to the last two podcasts on marriage? I’d love to hear your feedback. Did listening to those create questions in your mind about marriage? What comments would you share – did it help and encourage you? If so, how?
I would also welcome any input and suggestions for future podcasts. I’m recording these for YOU. I’d love to hear what you’re hungry to learn.
How was your April? I pray it was full of blessings!! See you in May!! (Next week!)

Hi Denise,
It looks like you had a full and blessed month. I did listen to your podcasts, and they were full of good wisdom. It’s easy to take our spouses for granted, so thank you for your words.

I love all the sweet pictures especially your grandsons working in the garden.
Beautiful watercolors – I especially like the roses. My daughter’s middle name is Rose.
The Wilds is always a refreshing place; you just feel the peace when you pull on the property.
I did listen to both podcasts, and they helped me. I think what’s most helpful is you sharing practical ways to live this out in real life. I have learned that too many times I expected my husband to think and act like a woman thinks and especially like me. This is not right. God has shown me this. I would like to continue to understand better (and appreciate) our differences. We need each other!
You mentioned saying good thing about your husband in public. Two weeks ago in our Sunday school class, it was our teacher’s 60th birthday. His wife spoke up and said how much she appreciated him as a man of God, a great husband and father. I could see how much it meant to him. Then this past Sunday, another lady spoke up and said how much she thanked God for her husband and the man he is; it was their 18th wedding anniversary. I could also see how much her husband appreciated that. Now I want to do the same for the dear husband God has given me. It reminded me of your podcasts. Thank you for the time and effort you put into those!

Thanks for this good feedback, Karen. I’m grateful that the podcasts have encouraged your marriage. I loved hearing these testimonies regarding the wives who bragged about their husbands. I think we all need to do that more often, or at least I do!
Say hello to your sweet “Rose” for me. 😊
