Dressing with Grace – Bumping Up the Graphic Tee

Summertime is a great time to wear those cute graphic tee shirts. They’re cool, short sleeved, and cute! What could be bad about that? Absolutely nothing! But how about taking that tee shirt and bumping it up a notch to make it a little more fashionable?

How do you do that?

I’m glad you asked!

In the first picture the shirt just takes over. It’s long and unflattering. In the second picture, I have folded it underneath into a pleat and then secured it with a rubber band. Now it fits and also has some shape. I also folded up the sleeves. Adding a lighter shoe looks lighter and the sandal adds a pop of color.

The fold is simple to do:

Kind of blah.
Much better!

The shirt above was simply gathered underneath and secured with a rubber band.

Anyone can throw on a tee shirt, but it’s more fun to bump it up a notch with a simple little trick like a fold or a knot!

Refresh your summer tee’s this summer with these simple tricks!

  1. Wonderful ideas, Denise! I very seldom wear this type of tee for the very reasons you mentioned. I have even tried cutting a few inches off to make them shorter and better fitting, but have never been quite satisfied with that. This is a much better idea. Thanks for sharing!
