Our fall ministry has recently taken us to New England. As you can imagine, the fall colors have been absolutely beautiful. Our journeys have take us to New Hampshire, Vermont and Massechusetts. We’ve been quite busy with both ministry and a few days of exploring. I thought I’d share one picture from each day, and also the best thing we ate in New England.
The first day took us through Virginia – what a beautiful state, but no real color to speak of.
Our first ministry on this trip was in New Hampshire where we spoke at a marriage conference. The time at the conference was a blessing, (spite the Nor’easter that made its way through New England! All we really experienced was rain). How wonderful to speak truth into marriages and families. God’s Word gives clear instruction and guidance so that our homes will reflect the Gospel and we get to enjoy the blessing of a home filled with the love of God!
The Sweatt’s were our gracious hosts for this conference and we were so grateful for their care for our provisions. Not only did we have a wonderful time with their church family, they also took us to some wonderful restaurants and fun tourist places!
We toured the Mark Twain house and saw a film about his life. It’s always so sad how often famous people lead very tragic personal lives. Without Christ at the center, there is truly nothing else that will bring lasting peace and joy! He wrote some great books, but his real life was not a happy ending.
Our friends took us to The Big E – the huge fair that includes the northeast states. It was really something special to see! I enjoyed the livestock and the historical sites, but the BEST thing was the Scallop Roll that was from a restaurant respresenting Rhode Island. Wow! The toasted brioche’ bun was the perfect landing pad for the fried scallops, and the lemon wedge and roumalade drizzled over it were the perfect condifments! This was definitely the best thing I ate in the north east!!

Whenever we’re near King Aruthur Flour Company in Norwich, VT, I love stopping in. From their store filled with all the baking products and tools to their bakery filled with amazing baked goods, it’s so much fun to see it and get a taste! We shared a chocolate croissant that did not disappoint! The croissant was the next best thing I ate in New England!
We didn’t eat our way through the northeast, I promise! But since Monday is normally my day to share a recipe, I wanted to share the delicious food we enjoyed from New England. I’ll share the rest of our trip pictures later this week.
Tell me about the best thing you’ve eaten this week! What have you enjoyed?
