This week finds us on the road again, ministering with D&D Ministry. I guess it’s no surprise that the conferences in February are marriage and family related – subject matters that our hearts/ministry are passionate about. We’re all aware that the family is under great attack. More than ever, we need the truth of God’s Word to instruct, guide, comfort and yes, even convict us so that we will follow God’s mandate for marriage and the home.

I read about a man who wanted to be a doctor so badly that he decided to impersonate one. Thank the Lord, he was arrested for doing so! Can you imagine putting your sick family member in his care? There’s a big difference between someone who says they are something and someone who really is what they claim.
When we read the fourth and fifth chapters of the book of Acts, we read words like, great faith and great power that came over the Christians. I can just hear their joy as they had all things common and were laying their gifts at the apostles’ feet so that the ministry of the Gospel could press forward.
How invigorating! How exciting!
But in my head, I can almost hear the music of the movie, Jaws beginning to play as Chapter 5 begins. It’s that eerie music that tells you that something really bad is getting ready to happen.

Being a mother is filled with emotions. There’s joy when the baby is born! Joy at their first coos and words. Weariness at their crying and fussiness. Excitement at their understanding of new things like reading and numbers, and Who made them and the world they live in. No one could deny the feeling of anxiety when their child goes through hard things – whether it be just learning to obey or enduring the pain of a bully at school.
