Full Home ~ Full Heart

kitchen counter a

This has been a full summer, and I’m not necessarily talking about how busy it’s been.  I’m referring to the fullness  in my home and my heart.  You see, we have had the joy of hosting many people here.  We have had our church family here in small and large groups.  We hosted prayer meeting, after service fellowship, children’s Bible Club and women’s Bible study.  I’ll share the events via some pictures and explanations.

July 4th Decor

I love adding seasonal decor to my home. Fourth of July happens to fit in with my decor pretty nicely, so I put little splashes in several areas of the living room/kitchen, and then outside as well.  Here’s a peek at the inside…

Being a Discerning Woman

RefreshHer

Sone years ago our church graciously gave my husband a 40-day sabbatical that started on Christmas Eve. During the first week of January we went to a lovely mountain home in South Carolina to rest. This home was located high up in an area known as “The Cliffs.” We were staying at the end of a section of homes at the end of the road. We could look out the large windows in the house and see the tiny lights of the houses below us twinkling in the darkness.

The weather was quite blustery; the wind was howling when we unloaded our belongings from the car and the snow was flying. The Cost of Neglect in Marriage

After a lovely week’s vacation, a stroll in my yard brought sights like this…
weeds

Weeds!  It’s amazing what just a little time away will do to a summer yard!

While I was tugging and pulling at the stubborn intruders, the Lord brought to my mind a simple truth: neglect in any area of our lives spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e!  You name it – if you neglect your health, your work, or your spiritual walk, it’s an invitation to disaster.

Let’s think about another area in which neglect is deadly…a marriage.  It’s so easy to Continue reading “The Cost of Neglect in Marriage”

The Why and the How-To of Stockpiling

Stockpiling – To accumulate a large stock of goods or materials. Unlike hoarding, when a person fills their pantry and freezer with goods, it has a goal and purpose. The two reasons I stockpile are:

  1. To be prepared ahead of time for certain meals or needs.
  2. To Save both money and time!

The method of stockpiling is simply done when grocery items are at their lowest price.  Continue reading “The Why and the How-To of Stockpiling”
