Easy Ways to Create Memorable Family Meals

This is part of the series, Maytag, Messes and Meals. You can listen to this post here on Refresh Her podcast.

I have a love for anything to do with the kitchen.  I love to cook and bake.  I love to try new recipes.  However, I know not everyone is that way. It’s a struggle to:

  • Cook a meal that everyone will eat.
  • To find the time to prepare.
  • To clean up the mess afterwards.
  • To get inspired to invite people over.

How to Cultivate a Grateful Heart in Today’s Youth

Thank you. Two powerful little words that mean so much to the hearer. Recently on Instagram, a gentleman posted this:

I’ve been living with Gen Z-er’s the last couple of years and I love these guys, they’re super guys, but there’s a generational weakness – and one of those is the expression of gratitude – saying thank you and writing thank you notes when people do you good.

Flavorful Baked Chicken Fajitas Ready in 25 Minutes

I’m reposting an old recipe that is great when you need a delicious meal in a hurry. We love Mexican foods, and this dish is full of the kind of flavors we enjoy, plus it is very fast to make and is also a great do-ahead dish!  That alone makes it a perfect pick for a busy day!

Typically, fajita meats are grilled, which gives them great flavor, but for a meal that needs to be on the table quickly, it’s not always the best way to go.  I found this recipe on Chef in Training‘s web site (this is a great site!).  She found it on another site…and so on and so on!  There’s nothing new under the sun, but we must give credit where credit is due!  =)

Slow Cooker Beef Bolognese

Vacation food inspiration…I love it! When we were at Disney last month, Whitney ordered Beef Bolognese one evening. She shared a portion of her entree’ with Dale and he raved about it. If you’re not familiar with this dish, don’t think spaghetti. Here’s an official description of what it is…

Authentic bolognese is not a simple tomato-based meat sauce, but a complex ragù with a prominent meat flavor and a small amount of tomato.

When we got home I set to work looking for a good and healthy recipe to try.
