Meanderings in New England

When the Lord led my husband and me to begin D and D Ministries and we began to travel, we knew it would be crucial to:

  1. Take opportunities to rest when we could
  2. Take time to occasionally travel the scenic route
  3. Pour into our own marriage.

So on this last ministry trip that lasted twelve days, we did all of the above. On the day that we traveled to King Arthur Flour Baking Company, we purchased a sandwich, along with a delicious chocolate croissant and tucked it into the cooler. We decided we’d stop along the way and enjoy it for lunch a little later. I prayed that the Lord would lead us to a special spot to do just that. Wow, did He ever guide us!

How a Rotisserie Chicken Became a Grace Gift

This week we encountered a simple little promo gesture on the behalf of Kroger, but it brought a sweet truth to our hearts. On our way home from Kentucky last week, we stopped at a Kroger store to pick up something at their Deli for a light supper. We found some sliced turkey in the deli and a package of Hawaiian rolls that would do nicely.

What do we often do when we get tired of waiting? Improvise!

We cannot mix faith and flesh. Warren Wiersbe

Have you ever stopped to consider the intentional design of God when He created Adam and Eve? What strengths did He give them in order to help them thrive in their roles?

The continuation of the subject of Biblical womanhood zooms in on the creation of the man and the woman. We learn in Genesis 2:15, 18-24 that there were some differences in God’s purpose for Adam and Eve.

Health Benefits from Small, Consistent Changes

Last week I had my yearly physical where bloodwork was drawn and cholesterol, sugars, Triglycerides and all the other important things were checked. I always hold my breath when the results come into my email. I have a family history of high cholesterol, so it makes it extra difficult to get those numbers down. My doctor is sympathetic, but still lovingly firm about the fact that I must eat right and exercise.

I was overjoyed that though my numbers are still higher than “normal,” they dropped close to 40 points! Someone asked me how I did it. My answer was pensive. I stopped and thought about my intentional efforts.
