A Front Door Wreath for the “In-between” Season

I know lots of you are already decked out for fall, but I’m still in denial! I’m hanging onto the warm days and summer-like temps as long as possible.

When I was sweeping off my front porch this week, I noticed that my front door wreath needed some help. The flowers were faded and pretty sad. I was headed to town anyway, so I added Hobby Lobby to my list of places to stop.

My first task was to find something on Pinterest that I could replicate. I already had a grapevine wreath, so that would serve as my base. Here’s what I found that I loved…

This was being sold on an etsy shop for $141.30!

Hobby Lobby’s stems were 40% off, so I got all these for just under $30 (and I ended up not needing one stem).

That was not my price range, and also, I wanted to fix the wreath problem TODAY.

I already had some of the greenery on hand, so I got it out to incorporate whatever was needed.

I laid everything out on a rug in my craft room and got to work with scissors and glue gun. An hour or so later this is what I ended up with.

This cost me $30 – $110 less than the etsy shop’s price! It’s not exact, but I’m pleased with it and it will serve the front porch well until it’s time to pull out my fall wreaths, which will probably be October.

I love the wispy greenery that hangs down on the side and I love the blue ribbon. It looks much better than my poor little bedraggled summer wreath! It’s amazing what one swap-out will do for the entry way!

Have you taken a step out on your front porch or sidewalk and looked, really looked at your entry? What needs to be refreshed? Find something on PInterest that you love and see if you can copy it. Challenge yourself to do it on a budget!

Have you pulled out your fall decor yet?

    1. I decorate August 15, go inside with the AC and give myself extra autumn time. I know, my friends all laugh but I wait the whole year for fall. Your wreath is very pretty!

      1. I love this! You should enjoy this good gift of autumn to your heart’s content! The Lord sent it to be enjoyed – even if you have to manipulate the temps a bit! 😊

  1. Beautiful wreath! I love it when you can make something at a fraction of the cost of a ready-made similar item! Last year I did that with a sled arrangement for Christmas – It was over $100. I already had a wooden sled, and I got the greenery, ribbon, and holly berries for 50% off at HL! It’s so much fun to create things, too. I will probably decorate for fall next week. I decorate pretty extensively for fall, so I like to do it mid-September and leave it out until mid-November when the Christmas decor goes up!
