The Best Way to Save Money

Some years ago one of my little 5 year-old Sunday school students said to her mom, “Coupons aren’t the best way to save money.”  Her mom asked her what was the best way, then.  Here was her answer –

“Just take it easy with God. You know, trust Him!”

That’s a wonderful definition of trust!  Take it easy with God!  As a matter of fact, that’s what Proverbs 28:25b says –

He that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

We think of “fatness” in a negative way most times, but Matthew Henry puts it this way –

“None live so pleasantly, so easily, as those that live by faith.

The person who puts his trust in God has the best kind of life! It’s a life of ease because the cares that would trouble him are taken to God instead!  This is the person who, instead of  worrying, just rolls it over onto the Lord.

Giving God your burden won’t just save you money, it will save you from fretting, worrying and an upset stomach!

What’s on your heart today?  “Just take it easy with God.  You know, trust Him!”

Why? Because I Peter 5:7 ~

Spaghetti Pie & Daily Table Setting

When you love lasagna but:

  1. You don’t need a whole 9 x 13″ pan…
  2. You don’t have the time to fuss with the assembly…

here’s what you need to do:  Make Spaghetti Pie!  This recipe was introduced to me almost ten years ago and it has become a staple in our house (meaning I make it a couple times a year, due to my love for fixing new recipes!).  Recently I made it as I’m trying to thumb through my blog recipe file and make some of the dishes we loved. Take a look at this fork-full!

My Cozy Living Room Makeover

This past fall I read, The Cozy Minimalist and was so inspired to clear out my living room according to her plan and get it into a more serene atmosphere.  Her approach is so easy to apply and doesn’t necessitate you getting rid of all extra’s, but of making wise use of what you have to create a space that is restful and inviting.  Let me show you where the room started… Continue reading “My Cozy Living Room Makeover”

Pork Tenderloin with Herb Glaze

Untitled (6)
I have been on a mission ~ I’m trying to cook through my own recipe files on my blog.  Someone told me recently that I have more recipes than anyone they’ve ever seen!  It’s true, but it’s because I love making new dishes!  I love experimenting!  I also have a willing husband who will try whatever I fix!  That makes it even more fun!  But because I have do have so many recipes, I don’t re-make many of them.  So, I am doing just that.  It’s been a delicious venture!
Today’s recipe of Pork Tenderloin with Herb Glaze was made at our house ten years ago!  I couldn’t wait to try it again.  I recently purchased a pork tenderloin on sale at the grocery store and I cut the large piece of meat into halves, making enough for several meals for us or providing for company.
