I know lots of you are already decked out for fall, but I’m still in denial! I’m hanging onto the warm days and summer-like temps as long as possible.
When I was sweeping off my front porch this week, I noticed that my front door wreath needed some help. The flowers were faded and pretty sad. I was headed to town anyway, so I added Hobby Lobby to my list of places to stop.

I wished I could sit down instead, but I had placed my dressing table in the guest room because I felt like my guests needed that spot. Then it dawned on me that we don’t have guests in there very often, but I get ready every single day! That was the day I moved it back into my bedroom. Oh my! It has made getting ready so much easier!

Paint – We had all of the downstairs of our house painted (except my husband’s office). After 9 1/2 years of living here, it really needed to be freshened up! I chose to cover the original khaki color with WHITE! It’s called, Blue Kiss. It has slight cast of blue in the white, rather than gray, brown or yellow. I love it! It really brightens the rooms up. I chose a semi-gloss and love how it reflects the light. I know it’s going to be easier to clean as well.
Continue reading “February Fun!”I think it happens every single winter – I get in the mood to move furniture close to the windows. I bring in more soft lights to brighten dark corners and table tops. I think of ways to make things cozier in our living spaces. Last week I was straightening up the family room upstairs and I got to thinking about my small oak kitchen table downstairs. I wondered what it would be like to have it in the family room beside the window. It would be in the sunshine at lunchtime and then it could create a cozy inviting spot for supper. Would it be weird to have an eating space in the family room? I decided to give it a try!

I’ve always wanted to add some winter touches to the back porch so we could use it in the winter as another entertaining area, and I’m happy to say I did that last week so this area will be more useable in the cold months!
