A hamburger and fries is a tempting treat occasionally, but when you see the calories and fat numbers, a guilt trip can arrive faster than your drive-through order!
But you know, eating right doesn’t have to mean you do without delicious food. This recipe for a hamburger and potatoes isn’t completely healthy, but it’s a lighter version
than the “regular” one, and it’s every bit as delicious!
This recipe is basically a loaded hamburger without the bun. The bun is replaced with a crispy oven-cooked potato. This hamburger is a tall stack of:
- A crispy hot potato on the bottom
- A beef patty
- Bacon
- Lettuce
- Tomaoes
- Avocado
- Onion
- Anything else you like on your burger!
I love it when my husband walks into the kitchen and says, “Man, something smells good!” Those were his words when I made this for supper recently. He loved it. I mean, who wouldn’t?! It’s also Gluten and dairy free if you need to cook without those ingredients. Here’s the recipe:

Wow! This satisfied my need for lunch at our local Pal’s burger – our favorite burger in the area! Try this and see if it satisfies your hunger for a juicy burger and fries!
What food do you hunger for that you need a healthy take on?
That looks like something you’d order in a restaurant downtown. Yum!
