Chocolate Cake Rolls

My husband has a friend who LOVES Little Debbie cakes! He just can’t get enough of all the seasonal flavors. From Pumpkin Spice Rolls to Chocolate Cake rolls, Little Debbie has it all. I won’t shame our friend for loving them, but if you ever taste a real cake roll, I don’t think there’s any going back! Swiss Cake Rolls are a favorite for many because of the chocolate and the cream inside!

Years ago I made homemade Chocolate Cake rolls and I had linked them to the original source, which was Southern Living. The recipe is no longer there, and a kind reader notified me and asked me for the link. It’s nowhere to be found. It seems more like a cruel taskmaster that is breathing down their necks. Indeed, there is always something that needs our attention! But how do we deal with those responsibilities with joy, rather than dread?

Beautiful Homemade Hamburger Buns

I remember hearing years ago about a friend who made her own saltine crackers. I thought she was crazy! You can buy them so cheaply! Why bother? Perhaps you’ll think I’m the crazy lady today when I tell you I made my own hamburger buns last week!

My husband went to the grocery store and found a package of really nice beef patties marked down. When he brought them home, I knew burgers were on the menu for the next day, but I had no buns. I’ve always wanted to try making my own! Soooo, the next morning I went to King Arthur Flour and looked for a recipe! I found Beautiful Burger Buns on their site and set in to make them. It started out as a necessity and ended up as the best decision I’ve made in the kitchen in a while!
