Recently while I was having coffee with a friend, she asked if I had any recipes that I could suggest for her Fourth of July celebration. My mind went zooming to my blog recipes and came up with a list that I thought I’d share with you, too, just in case you need some ideas of what to serve at your barbecue this weekend! Loosen your belt and let’s go!!
If you need a little appetizer before the meal, these Cheese Straws are a good southern favorite! This Tex-Mex Black Bean Dip is a light appetizer that you can serve with whatever kind of tortilla chip you enjoy.
This S’mores Dip is so easy and delicious. It would make a great appetizer, but also a fantastic, quick dessert.
Strawberry Salad is a green salad with berries and a fruity dressing – perfect with any meal! You can substitute with whatever berry you have – blueberries or blackberries would be delicious!
Here’s another Strawberry Salad and yummy dressing!
Fresh Broccoli Salad is a lightened up version of an old favorite. Of course, you can never go wrong with a yummy Potato Salad. This recipe is one my sister makes and tastes like a deli recipe!
Fourth of July meats can vary, so let me share a few of my favorites for the picnic kind of lunch this holiday calls for. Grilled Chicken with Strawberry Salsa is perfection!
This hamburger is my favorite with the herbed cream cheese oozing out the middle of the burger.
If you want to grill the most delicious steak, you won’t be sorry you used this Teriyaki Marinade. I’ve used it for YEARS, and it makes the meat burst with flavor!
For a starch I’d highly recommend Golden onion rings, Garlic Fries, or Potato Skins. Other sides to consider are Triple Bean Bake (the best baked beans!), Corn Cheese Bake or Fried Green Tomatoes.
There are SO MANY desserts that would be perfect! Let me suggest a Peach Cobbler – the perfect summer treat!
These Individual Berry Cobblers are a family favorite. You can use any fruit you have! It’s really more like a crisp than a cobbler, but no less delicious!
Strawberry Shortcakes with these little homemade shortcakes takes this dessert to a whole new level! Hot Fudge Spoon Cake is made in the crock pot, so your kitchen won’t be heating up while it’s baking!! It’s the perfect chocolate dessert with a spoon of ice cream over top! If you want ice cream, but don’t want to make your own, this Caramel Ice Cream Dessert is heavenly! It’s a Southern Living recipe that I’ve made many times and am never sad about the results
Happy 250th Birthday, America!
